Three of our employees, Nagao, Sego, and Santos, visited Nepal on a business trip from May 10 to May 17, 2026.
In Nepal, you can often see beautiful flower arrangements floating on water. They are displayed in hotels and restaurants as a warm welcome to guests.
This time, we would like to introduce the origin of the name of the local beer GORKHA. It is named after Gorkha District in Gandaki Province, located near the center of Nepal. This historic area is where King Prithvi Narayan Shah was born and raised. He later united Nepal and laid the foundation of the modern nation. The beer label features the silhouette of the famous Gurkha soldiers, who are known for their courage and strength. It is considered a symbol of Nepal’s “courage” and “resilience.”

This is Momo, a popular Nepalese dish. It is similar to steamed dumplings, but the meat filling is seasoned with spices. The orange sauce on the right is a special sauce made with tomatoes, sesame seeds, and spices. It is not very spicy, so it is easy for Japanese people to enjoy.

For lunch, we visited a trout farm where guests can catch farm-raised trout and have it freshly cooked. We enjoyed our meal in a treehouse at the farm.

At the entrance to the trout farm, we saw a large traditional swing. This type of swing, called a ping, is set up during Dashain, Nepal’s most important autumn festival. According to a religious and cultural tradition, everyone should lift their feet off the ground at least once during the festival. Doing so is believed to bring good luck.
